On December 15th 2013 27 year old Indonesian copywriter Mita Diran died after literally working non-stop for 30 hours straight without any rest. Having taken a lot of energy drinks to keep her going, the overload of caffeine in the drinks caused a blood vessel in her brain to rupture, causing poor Mita to experience painful headaches before eventually collapsing and slipping into a coma. Mita died after being treated for a few hours in a Jakarta hospital.
Diran wrote about work on her Tumblr page multiple times. One of her posts, entitled “An Open Plea,” talked about how she was working eight days straight.
